Overview

Providing safe and effective care for individuals with enteral feeding needs is a critical responsibility for Disability Support Professionals. Our PEG Feeding Training course is specifically designed to equip Support Workers with the practical skills and knowledge required to confidently assist clients who rely on Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) feeding for their nutritional support.
This comprehensive course offers a clear and thorough understanding of the PEG feeding system, from the fundamentals of enteral nutrition to the safe handling and maintenance of gastrostomy equipment. You'll explore the different types of PEG feeds, learn proper administration techniques—including gravity feeds, pump feeds, and syringe bolus methods—and understand the importance of hygiene, monitoring, and documentation in ensuring the health and safety of clients.
Throughout the course, you’ll also gain vital insight into the common complications associated with PEG feeding, such as infections, stoma care issues, and blocked tubes.
