Overview
Safe manual handling is essential for preventing injury and promoting dignity in care. Manual Handling Training is specifically designed for Support Workers to develop the practical skills and knowledge needed to safely assist clients with mobility and transfers in a variety of health and community care settings.
This hands-on training ensures that workers understand their legal responsibilities, follow best practice techniques, and work within their scope of practice to reduce the risk of harm to themselves and those they support.

- Core principles of manual handling safety
- Anatomy and biomechanics related to movement and posture
- Identifying and assessing manual handling risks in the workplace
- Correct techniques for:
- Repositioning clients in bed
- Assisting with standing and walking
- Using hoists, slide sheets, transfer belts, and other mobility aids
- Workplace health and safety obligations under current legislation
- Importance of client focused manual handlig, review of care plan and effcient and effective communication with client and collegues
- Incident prevention and reporting requirements

This course is currently 100% face to face.
A nationally accredited certificate, the cost is $110.
Competency based only qualification, the cost is $65.
The Nationally Accreditated HLTWHS005 Conduct Manual Handling Task Safely versus competency based Manual Handling is the same course content , same duration.

Yes it's the same qualification that everyone requires yearly. However if people have done it previously and work in the industry daily the course duration can be shortly depending upon the experience/ competency of student. This is assessed on the day by the trainer.
